Tips to Help Your Child Feel Less Anxious on the First Day of Preschool

After what the world has been through in these past years, it’s finally time to get everything back to normal. A lot of schools and colleges have begun to open up, and few are still thinking about making the right decision. If it’s time for your preschooler to get to school, we understand how anxious it can be for you as well as the child. Try to Visit the School Before Sending Your Child on the First Day

So, you have finally got the date of reopening, and you are anxious. The first thing that you should do is make sure that your child is going into a comfortable and friendly environment. Even the best nursery school in India allows the parent to visit the school and double-check everything before sending the child to school. Talk to the staff and ask them how they are going to take the first day of your child forward. Understand the rules and regulations; we are sure half of your stress will slip away when you look at the premises from the inside.

 

Have a Conversation with the Teacher

When you visit the school, make sure to have a small talk with the teacher. You can share your anxiety with them, and we are sure they will try their best to make everything right for you and your child. If they are friendly with you, they will understand your point of view and keep up with you and the child in the coming times.

 

Plan and Purchase a Transitional Object

The most important message you can send your child is that they are loved and thought about often. Pick out something for them from their room, like a small stuffed animal or photo album, to remind them how much Mommy misses when she’s not around.

Picking an object called “transitional” by experts in psychology will make separation fears lessen while also feeling closer towards mom during her absence.

 

Try to Start to Practice Distancing Beforehand

You have to ensure that no matter what, you pick up your child on time, especially when it’s their first day. If you fail to do so, be ready to pack a few gifts before they get upset!
